Arsenal’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest at Emirates Stadium. The Gunners have the chance to keep their lead at the top of the table for another matchday.
After a disappointing defeat against PSV Eindhoven on Thursday night, Mikel Arteta is expected to return to a full-strength side this Sunday and welcome back Gabriel Jesus who did not start in midweek. Oleksandr Zinchenko remains a key doubt with Mohamed Elneny and Emile Smith Rowe both long-term absentees.
It is Arsenal’s last home league match before the World Cup begins on November 20. The match against Nottingham Forest is a great chance for Arteta’s side to sign off their home campaign before the pause with three points.
Glen Murray said : From a personal point of view, I don’t think Arsenal can go all the way but we have to give them the respect they deserve. They are top of the Premier League at this point. If they are top of the league going into the World Cup, why can’t they go and win it.
When you’ve got a young side like this, special things can happen. We’ve seen it with Man United, the famous quote ‘you can’t win anything with kids’. Well, this could be another group that prove everyone wrong.
Saka injury
With the World Cup approaching, hopefully Saka’s injury isn’t too serious.
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has sparked concern over his fitness after he was substituted during the Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest.
Saka has played in every match across all competitions so far this season under Mikel Arteta, scoring five goals and providing four assists in 16 appearances. The Gunners have been hampered with injuries in the 2022/23 campaign with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Mohamed Elneny and Emile Smith Rowe all having been absent for long periods of time.
The busy fixture schedule has pushed players’ fitness to the edge with games being played every three to four days ahead of the World Cup in November. Smith Rowe is set to be out of action until the new year whilst Arteta is reluctant to put a time frame on Zinchenko’s return, and now it looks as though Saka may be an injury concern heading into November.
