The Tampa City Council voted in favor by a 4-3 margin to approve a $2.3 billion deal for a new stadium.
The Hillsborough County Commissioners will vote Friday, August 28th, 2026 on the deal.
Since the Rays first started playing in 1998, they have always called Tropicana Field home, outside of 2025 when they played at the Yankees Spring Training facility and home to the Single-A Tampa Tarpons (NYY Affiliate) due to damage from Hurricane Milton in October 2024.
